Stephen S. Caskie, PE, LLC
was founded in 1997. As an engineer in the Charleston area for over 20
years on both the owner and consultant side of the business, Steve
understands the need for quality engineering that meets the needs of
area architects, builders, construction companies and government
agencies. His trademark is being very responsive, providing a quality
engineering product when promised, for the agreed upon price. After the
engineering is completed, he makes revisions as necessary, answers
questions freely, and helps clients achieve their goal seamlessly. This
“hands on” approach with the clients has allowed the firm to continue to
increase its client base with steady, repeat clients.
The firm was instrumental in
the implementation of the new IRC 2000 and IBC 2000 building codes with
many clients. Charleston, SC has the distinction of having high design
wind speeds, various flood zones and being seismically active. The new
Building Code addresses and requires specific, often complex methods to
deal with all of the aspects of a project. Innovative and practical ways
to approach implementing these Codes have been developed for clients.
The successful implementation into designs allowed architects and owners
the freedom to express their artistic side which allowed for the
Building Code, constructability and structural aspects.
